Fort Umpqua Muzzleloaders (F.U.M.L.) Began with a group of people having a bit of fun shooting together on weekends. They founded the club in 1974 and became incorporated in 1980. F.U.M.L members meet the third Monday of each month. Those meetings are held at 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall at 8th and "C" streets in Springfield, left side of the building. In addition to the regular business meeting, we try to include items or other programs, features of interest to our members. Some of the programs are:, Flint Knapping, Knot Tying, Hardtack, Cordage, Period Tentage. This is just a handful of interesting programs put on by our members. Club target shoots are held on the last Saturday of the Month (with a few exceptions, as scheduled.) The friendly competition can include target practice, a trail walk, knife and tomahawk throwing and various other contests. The shoot in November is traditionally a "Turkey Shoot" and in December the club hosts a Christmas party. All of these events are costume optional.
Although F.U.M.L. has many events all through the year, we also sponsor some "Special annual events": The Frontier Heritage Fair, and Fort Umpqua days are two of these events. Come and Join Us.
