Fort Umpqua Muzzleloaders (F.U.M.L.) Began with a group of people having a bit of some fun shooting together on weekends. They founded the club in 1974 and became incorporated in 1980. F.U.M.L members meet the third Monday of each month. Those meetings are held at 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall at 8th and "C" streets in Springfield, right side of the building. In addition to the regular business meeting, we try to include items or other program features of interest to our members. Some of the programs are: Sketching leather, Flint Knapping, Knot Tying, Hardtack, Cordage, Period Tentage. This is just a handful of interesting programs put on by our members. Club shootings are held the fourth Sunday of the Month (with a few exceptions, as scheduled.) The friendly competition can include target practice, a trail walk, knife and tomahawk throwing and various other contests. The shoot in November is traditionally a "Turkey Shoot" and in December the club hosts a Christmas party. All of these events are costume optional.
Although F.U.M.L. has many events all through the year, we also sponsor three "Special annual events": The Heritage Fair, our Broken Wagon Rendezvous and The Frog Holler Rendezvous. Come and Join Us.
